Progress Report
This week we unfortunately did not get much done. Multiple of our band members have been absent throughout the week which makes it very difficult to progress.
We worked on refining our already-existing song and fortunately managed to finish composing it, however we still have work to do practicing it to a professional standard.
I do sincerely wish that people would come in more often (and on time) so we could actually get things done. On the positive side, the band drama seems to have ended so we can hopefully go back to focusing on the music side of the course.
Individual Learning Plan
This week, as promised, I worked on sweep picking. I was assigned this sweep picking pattern by my guitar teacher and it's really nice to have an exercise that actually sounds nice.
As I'm sure you know, sweep picking requires a LOT of coordination, but also a LOT of discipline. It was very difficult for me to stop myself from speeding up and slowing down in places.
After a lot of practicing throughout the week, I managed to finally get this pattern to 150bpm with minimal mistakes. Although it was very annoying, it was quite fun to try out a new technique that I have hardly experimented with before. It's very satisfying once you get it right.
Despite the fact I still have a lot of work to do, adding this skill to my repertoire now allows me to cover a much wider range of genres.
Next week I will likely work on fingerpicking as I feel that this could be a very valuable skill for me. While I have experience fingerpicking from my longstanding obsession with Mark Knopfler, I tend to only really use my first 2 fingers and my thumb (hardly ever the 3rd). I also tend to play all of his lead parts and not the rhythm parts with the difficult finger coordination.

I apologise for not having written this earlier, however, please understand I have been experiencing mental health struggles which take priority in my life.
Please accept this post for the initiative I have taken in completing my undone work.
